Thanks to Instagram, I've been seeing these neon portraits all over the place. Obviously, I had to try my hand at it and even though this was a super short shoot, I'm happy with how they turned out. We were supposed to shoot with Jenna during the day, but it was actually cold in Florida! It was rainy and freezing, so we decided to scrap that and do this short shoot at night. It was about 40 degrees and windy. We were all freezing and I felt bad for Jenna since she had to pretend to be comfortable. We went to the Mills 50 district at Mills and Colonial in the Vietnamese section of Orlando. There's a plethora of neon in front of the restaurants in that area hence the sweet Vietnamese signs you'll see below. Btw, the first one we shot in front of (Anh Hong) is suuuuper good.
Insofar as editing goes, I'm adding all the grain! I dig the film look and I'm embracing all the noise and grain that shooting in low lights comes with. I tend to underexpose my images a bit too much, so bringing them up in post creates a lot of noise. But whatevs, I like how they're coming out, so I'm going to roll with it.
Once again, thanks for stopping by!
