The day I photographed Sara began as a bit of a mess. My friend and fellow-photographer, Wayne, and I planned to shoot around sunset with a model that had to back out at the last minute. We scrambled to find a model and to lock down a safe lake location because my goal was to try to recreate my own version of this photo I had seen by photographer Ravi Vora. Thanks to Wayne, his friend Sara was able to be our model and his other friend Kristen was able to provide an amazing location right on Lake Brantley near Wekiva Springs. On a day that began with so much uncertainty ended up being way better than I could have asked for. Sara was more than willing to get in the lake and do the poses I wanted and Kristen provided us with so much hospitality (and mimosas!). And as you can see, the light was constantly changing and it rained intermittently which ended up providing some of my favorite images from this set. Wayne brought his speedlight and softbox setup which we ended up sticking straight in the water just as the sun set. It made for some dramatic shots! I'm still and forever will be learning about lighting; both natural and artificial, and I'm very pleased with how everything came out. It was a challenge, but I did the best I could. Thank you so much for looking!
